Crowd Simulation exercise made with Golaem. I started learning crowd simulations recently and made this shot to try out some of the concepts I learned. There is still room for improvement, but it was fun and educative to put together this scene!

I used characters from Golaem's Character Pack and the dragon is from CoreMesh 3D on Sketchfab. The terrain is a 3D scan by PersScans from Fab.

I have also been experimenting with crowds in Houdini. For this exercise, I used a model by Nestaeric from Sketchfab, which came with multiple animation cycles.

I experimented with transitions and triggers but ended up deciding to keep it simple, using only 2 run cycles as it was my first attempt at crowds. I learned how to convert assets and animation to crowd agents, experimented with scattering, randomization, avoidance and forces, how to cache and render a crowd simulation, and had lots of fun!

I have also been diving deeper in the theory and concepts behind crowds, notably learning about fuzzy logic, which I find really interesting. Looking forward to experiment further!
